85% Mencia with Tempranillo, Garnacha and Sousón from a 4 hectare plot. Hand-harvested in 16 kg boxes with a rigorous selection in the vineyard. Stainless steel maceration/fermentation for 20 days. Aged for 10 months in medium-toasted French and American oak 300 litre barrels and a further 6 months in bottle before release.
Intense, cherry-coloured with a garnet rim. Elegant, clean aromas of wild berries, herbs with wooden notes of menthol, liquorice, cinnamon and pepper, nuanced by some mineral undertones. A rounded palate with fresh acidity and a meaty unctuous texture and structure. Creamy balsamic notes, toasted wood and spices, combined with notes of red berries, orange rind and blackcurrants. Long finish with some fruity and toasted notes.
