Clos Bartolome is a real find, expressing the viticultural layers of Priorat in just one glass, a wine of great character from 50% Garnacha, 40% Samso (Cariñena) and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon collected from ancient vines aged from 40-70 years with average yields of 2,500 kg/ha from their own 7 hectare estate.Vinification is performed at a controlled temperature of 26-28°C with the must remaining in vat for 14 days, the time necessary to create a wine with the proper colour level and polyphenol compounds. Aged 12-15 months in French Allier, medium toast, first/second and third year barrels.
Intense, cherry red colour with youthful, violet tones. Its aroma is powerful, ripened fruits, red berries, concentrated and mature, with balsamic hints and mineral reminiscences over a background of oak which provides light touches of toasted flavours and high-quality spices. On the palate, it is strong and meaty, dry, complex, voluptuous and well structured. The dark fruit flavours and the oak of the barrels are complementary to each other, with added peppery notes and earthiness. Its tannins are fine-grained and velvety, which together with the kick of peppery spice, make it a very fine and elegant wine with a great warm finish of intense and mature fruits. The wine will undergo favourable change over the next 3-4 years. Serving temperature: 16-20°C. Production 10,000 bottles authenticated and numbered by hand.
